MoneyMax: Engage, Empower and Educate Filipinos

Want to maximize the value of your money?

I'm a big fan of comparison websites. I'm sure you can relate to this, right?

When you're hotel-shopping, you go to Agoda to check the best hotel rates with their respective reviews.

When you're travelling, you subscribe to Skyscanner to get the cheapest airline rates.

And when you're looking for credit cards, you go to a financial comparison website like Moneymax to help you choose the best card that can fit your needs and your budget. This is what I did.

And so when TheWiseLiving.com was invited to an intimate blogger's lunch by MoneyMax, I told them that I already made use of their website before. It's a helpful tool that did all the comparing of the credit cards, so it was a much-needed convenience boost.

Ths is Jorrit Koop, Managing Director of MoneyMax.ph, who gave the details as to why MoneyMax chose the Philippines as one of their prime locations:

- Only 27% of Filipinos have a checking account!
- And, financial literacy is poor; which is why...
- Financial service providers also lack competition in terms of pricing and offers

Frankly, these news weren't new to me at all. It's saddening to admit it, but we Filipinos still lack financial literacy - which is why a lot of us are prone to "investment" scams. :(

Aside from the hassle-free experience that MoneyMax aims to provide to their site readers, what I'm a fan of is their advocacy to educate, engage and empower Filipinos to be financially free. :)

Learning camps, financial literacy seminars, interactive finance-focused forums, and other activities which aim to support our kababayans and guide them to take control of their lives is something that I'm always supportive of.

Let's say hello to better and more informed Filipinos in the future!

And of course, here's the obligatory selfie. :)
