3 Steps to Get Your SSS Number Online

Do you already have an SSS number?

You should. It has several benefits that not every Pinoy is familiar with.

When I asked my friends and family members what they think they'll get from their SSS plan, their two most common answers were SSS Loan and Pension for their retirement years.

You can actually get three MORE! Hindi lang dalawa ang makukuha mo sa SSS plan mo. Being an SSS member entitles you to sickness benefits, maternity benefit and disability benefit as well.

It doesn't matter if your employed, self-employed or a freelancer. Here are three simple steps on how you can get your own SSS number online:

You're actually fortunate. When I got my SSS number, I had to do the entire process at their head office, so that meant lining up and spending my whole day just so I could get an SSS number.

With these steps, you can accomplish the bulk of the process online:

1. Complete your details at SSS official website.

Once you click on that link, you'll be directed here:

Please click on the start button at the end.

And then complete your information here. The most important step is to make sure you enter a valid working email so you can receive all official correspondence from SSS.

After submitting all your details, you'll receive a confirmation link on your email. You can also check your Spam folder to make sure that you get the link.

2. Click on the confirmation link in your email & complete your details.

While I was "trying" to get an SSS number online for the purposes of this blog post, I actually received the confirmation link on my Inbox within one minute.

Once you click on that confirmation link, you'll be directed here, where you can fill in your required details.

3. Print the Personal Record Form, SS Number Slip including the SSS Number Application Confirmation email body.

This is the last step on how you can get your SSS number online.

After clicking the "Generate SS Number" button, you'll then get your official SSS number! Go to your email which contains the necessary details, and then print them.

Once you have printed it, go to the nearest SSS branch and submit these, together with any of the following IDs:

- Birth certificate
- Marriage certificate (if married)
- Birth certificates of children (if you have children)

If you don’t have a birth certificate, any of the following documents will do:

- Baptismal certificate
- Driver’s license
- Passport
- Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) card
- Seaman’s Book (Seafarer’s Identification and Record Book)
